This blended baked oats has flavours of banana, creamy, nutty tahini and a hint of cinnamon spice. It's a healthy breakfast that tastes decadent and is so comforting and satisfying.

Jumping on the TikTok baked oats trend with yet another flavour combination. Single serving baked oats are so easy to make and are especially great for colder mornings. Plus having your own bowl of baked oats means everyone can have their own flavours they like AND less dishes to clean. What is not to love?!

Baked Banana & Tahini Oats

THE INGREDIENTS

OATS

I used oat flour in this recipe. If you don't have oat flour you can blend rolled oats into a floury consistency. Alternatively you can use the rolled oats flakes as they are. For a gluten-free version, make sure to use a gluten-free specified oats.

TAHINI

Tahini is a paste made from ground sesame seeds and adds a delicious nutty and earthiness to the dish.

It's one of my absolute favourite ingredients. Make sure to sue a good tahini, as tahini of a poorer quality can have a bitter taste.

BANANA

The earthiness from the tahini combined with the sweet banana is a match made in heaven. The banana adds natural sweetness and creaminess to the dish.

ALMOND MILK

I used an unsweetened almond milk in this recipe, but feel free to use any milk of choice.

CINNAMON

The cinnamon spice adds a wonderful warmth and flavour to the dish. I think nutmeg should work well in this recipe too.

ALMONDS

Serving the oats with a few chopped almonds, adds crunch and even more flavour. Walnuts will work well too or omit if you prefer without the nuts.

SALT

Never underestimate what a bit of salt can add to a sweet dish. The salt balances and enhances all the flavours. Definitely add a pinch.

  • 1 small mashed banana, plus a few more slices on top if desired

  • Pinch of salt

  • 60ml almond milk or milk of choice

  • 1 heaped tbsp runny tahini

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheat the oven to 180C

  2. Mix the oat flour, mashed banana, salt, almond milk and cinnamon until well combined.

  3. Transfer 2/3 of the mixture into an ovenproof ramekin.

  4. Add the tahini on top of the mixture (in the centre) and cover with the rest of the mixture.

  5. Add a few banana slices on top (if desired) and bake for 15 – 18min or until it's the consistency you prefer. I prefer mine still runny in the centre.

  6. Remove the oats from the oven and let it sit for a few minutes before dusting with cinnamon, a drizzle of maple syrup and a few chopped almonds. Enjoy!
