Approximately 500 steep, white stone steps to see one of the most spectacular 360 panoramic views in the Ninh Binh area. Is it worth all the steps? Totally.

This UNESCO Heritage site is also known as the Lying Dragon Mountain, this mountain is located in the Ninh Binh province, in the northern part of Vietnam.
HOW TO GET THERE
This mountain is located about 100km south of Hanoi and there are many ways to reach it.
From Hanoi you can take a train or bus to the Ninh Binh area.
The closest Village in Tam Coc. You can take a private car/ taxi or hire a motorbike from there.
ENTRANCE FEE
Tickets are available to purchase at the entrance of the park. The tickets cost around 100,000 VND ( approx. GBP 2.90) per person.
CAN ANYONE DO THIS?
Anyone who is capable climbing steps. Apart from the elevation and steps it is not a tough or too challenging climb. Some areas closer to the highest points might require a bit of climbing, but there is no need to climb past the steps as the views can be enjoyed all along the way.
RECOMMENDATIONS
Wear appropriate footwear. I walked this in my running trainers, but walking shoes and sneaker are fine too. I would not recommend flip flops.
Take water! It gets hot and sweaty when walking all the steps.
Wear a hat and/ or sunblock. The sun can be harsh.
THE NEGATIVE
Vietnam is a very touristy country, meaning most tourist attractions can be very busy. This is definitely one of those tourist attractions, so be wise when choosing when to go.
I can confirm you should avoid going for sunset. The tourists arrive by the bus loads!
