White sandy beaches, turquoise waters and the most beautiful surroundings. This is Cornwall and thankfully this beautiful part of the country also has good vegan food.
I will keep updating this post as I try new restaurants in Cornwall, but for now here are some already tried and loved. Stay posted as there will be more to come!
THE MUSSEL SHOAL, PORTHLEVEN
A little 'hole in the wall' with outdoor seating and a view of the harbour. This place serves amazing dishes. They have delicious vegan options, including this Sweet corn Chowder with chunky bread. So much flavour packed into the bowl.

Highly recommend this place, especially when the sun is out. They also have outdoor fireplaces for colder days. It's laidback and has an informal setting, with wine served in paper cups. Most likely you will encounter friendly locals with their cute four-legged companions. Just be aware of the sea gulls.

THE HIDDEN HUT, PORTSCATHO
Despite it's name it might be hidden, but no longer a secret hidden gem. Beautiful setting and delicious food. They have monthly supper clubs with a long table set up on the low tied beach. Although their speciality is seafood they do have vegan options. For supper clubs you will have to contact them beforehand to request a vegan option. I had a wonderful dhal, which is always a winner for me. All their seating is outside, with views of the ocean and beach. A beautiful setting to enjoy a good meal.
POTAGER GARDEN, CONSTANTINE
A beautiful vegetarian restaurant in a converted green house, surrounded by lush gardens. Their everchanging, seasonal menu uses local ingredients, most of which they grown in their own gardens. I love this place. A small menu, but delicious options.
I had their tofu poke ball, which had so much flavour and the perfect combination of textures. Delicious!
They are not open every day of the week, but it's a great place for weekend brunches or wholesome lunches.
LOVETTS, PENZANCE
A cosy, little wine bar and shop in Newlyn, Penzance. They also serve good coffee and wonderful simple brunches/ lunches or small bites with your glass of wine. A favourite place of ours.
Don't forget to grab a bottle of Peanut Rayu from White Mausu and a sourdough sea salt chocolate from Pump Street.
BUTTERMARKET, REDRUTH
A vibrant food hall with 6 Kitchens, each serving something different. From filled focaccia sandwiches to bao buns and Lentil Fritters. A MUST try is the cinnamon focaccia from The Filthy Focaccia. We also had Bao buns from Bango Kitchens and a glass of orange wine from Earles bar.
THE CANTEEN, PORTHTOWAN
They currently have a purely vegan restaurant in the Eco Park in Porthtowan, but I believe this will unfortunately be closing down in October. Fear not, they do have a second location in the area. This second location is not purely vegan, but overall worth a visit. Their lunch menu changes daily.
We have been here for breakfasts and lunches. Everything we have tried has been fantastic. A must try is their Vegan Pastel de Natas. They are insanely delicious.
THE FISH SHED, ST IVES
Best known for their diverse menu serving local, sustainable seafood. They do however have a few vegan options (or can request to make them vegan). I have on two occasions had their crispy Korean Tofu Burger, which is one of the best tofu burgers I have had in a restaurant. Let me not forget to mention their dreamy crispy miso potatoes. Finally, the view of the ocean, especially at sunset, will complete the whole experience. Highly recommended. Worth checking their menu before you go as it changes with what's in season.
ST EIA, ST IVES
A beautiful little restaurant and wine shop, tucked way from the busy St Ives streets. It is a intimate and stylish space, serving a simple, seasonal menu.
Although their menu didn't have anything vegan, they talked to the chef and came back with a menu where they scratched out everything the chef could not make vegan. They had a really good few options of dishes they chef could make vegan for me. I loved the effort and care and the food did not disappoint. Incredible!
SILCO BAR & KITCHEN, ST IVES
Vegan or not, you have to try their Sri Lankan Lentil Fritters! A bit pricey for the portion size, but I think so worth it. Definitely also try one of their many cocktails, as they make their own gins and other mixes. Pretty Interior and with a view of the harbour. Don't skip this one when in St Ives. They do also have a small kitchen in the Buttermarket in Redruth (above)
THE GURNARDS HEAD, near ZENNOR
Or as we refer to it as "the yellow pub!. This colourful pub has been named in various food guides and articles as a must-go. I have to agree. They have a very interesting (in a good way) menu. This popular pub has a cosy interior and a good wine menu. A three course meal and shared a good bottle of wine with friends. The starter and dessert were exceptional. Their menu keeps changing, so it's worth checking before booking a table.
SABZI, FALMOUTH
A deli style Cafe serving delicious salad style Middle Eastern Food. If you know me, you know this is right up my alley. I could eat this food every day. They also have locations in Truro and Newquay. Don't skip their tahini cinnamon roll. It's simply delicious!
HAKARI KITCHEN, NEWQUAY
A hole-in-the-wall takeaway beach food using local produce. I enjoyed their Satay Tenderstem. Generous portion too. Order the take-away and do the short walk towards the beach. Enjoy with a view of the sea.
KABYN CAFE, GWITHIAN BEACH
Calling all cinnamon roll lovers. This was the perfect spot for a warm oat latte and a sticky cinnamon roll, after a windy and cold day walking the three mile beach. They have a few vegan options and make a good coffee.
This is a mobile café, based on the Gwithian Beach, near Hayle.
FEE'S DELI, ROCK
A cute deli in Rock. Their menu does keep changing and they might not always have something vegan. This weekend they had a delicious Mango Overnight Oats with mango pure and a coconut yoghurt based oats.
MOOMAID OF ZENNOR
If you are looking for a good vegan chocolate gelato, I recommend Moomaid's Dark Chocolate Gelato. They have a few locations, including Zennor, St Ives and Porthtowan.
Grab yourself a vegan gelato in a vegan cone (make sure to request a vegan cone) and enjoy it with a spectacular view of the ocean.
GORSE BAKERY, near PERRANPORTH
Although they don't have any vegan pastries (sadly), they do have delicious sourdough bread and make a great oat latte. Worth a visit if you enjoy good bread and a good coffee.

WEST GREEK, ST IVES
Generous portions and beautiful sunset beach views. I do love Greek food and their Falafel Kebab with a pomegranate dressing was really tasty. Even though more rusting looking, it's nevertheless a delicious meal that probably will require a few paper serviettes whilst enjoying.

THE RUM & CRAB SHACK, ST IVES
A couple years ago I had their vegan Jambalaya, which was wonderfully spicy and full of flavour. I chose this as it was a very non-traditional vegan option on a menu. If I remember correctly they also have a tofu "fish" and chips on their menu too but have not tried it yet. Even if you don't have anything to eat here, I recommend trying their Basil Mojito or one of their many rum cocktails. The owners have their own rum, called Dead Mans Finger, which they use an many of their cocktails. Sadly I didn't take a photo of my Jambalaya to share with you.
PIZZA JOCKEY, NEWQUAY
They make a great vegan pizzas with Aubergine tahini and zhoug. It hads lots of flavour and I did not complain about the generous amount of toasted pinenuts. They also have a restaurant in Falmouth.

More to follow soon.....
