It has been nearly 10 years since our last trip to Italy. Last June we finally made a trip back, this time with my beautiful mom.

FLYING FROM THE UK
The closest airport to the Amalfi Coast is Naples. Depending on the airline, a flight from Bristol or Heathrow takes about 2 hours and 45 minutes.
BEST WAY TO GET AROUND ON THE AMALFI COAST
RENT A CAR
There are many car rental places at the Naples Airport. Be sure however to check the opening times if you are landing in the evening. Depending on the car size, it can be an inexpensive way to travel. The roads are narrow and many windy on the coastline, so a small car might make it more comfortable to get around.
TAKE THE BUS
The bus services are regular and perfectly good. During season these can be very full and busy, but the bus it is an inexpensive option. If you ever want to see impressive driving this is the place.
RENT A SCOOTER
Probably the most popular way to get around between the towns. Make sure you feel confident driving a scooter on the winding roads.
HIRE A DRIVER
During our whole stay we noticed a lot of tourists arriving and going with a personal driver. More often then not they were chauffeured in a vintage style Mini's. Hiring a personal driver will definitely take away the stress for getting around, however it is not cheap.

VEGAN FOOD
I find there are not as many restaurants with vegan options, but there are two dishes you will most likely find at any restaurant in Italy. One being a Marinara Pizza (or ask for a Margarita without cheese) and a Pasta Pomodoro. A simple Tomato Bruschetta is also available at most restaurants.
PLACES TO SEE
We have been to the Amalfi Coast few times and this time around we visited many of the same places as I wanted to show the areas to my mom. Here are a few recommendations of villages/ areas not to miss.
POSITANO
Stunning cliffsides, blue water and colourful houses on the hillsides. It has many windy streets with shops, restaurants and boutiques. It's easy to see why this is such a big tourist attraction. Don't forget to buy yourself a pair of custom-made sandals. You can choose any style and finish they have and they finish the shoe on your foot to enjoy a perfect fit. It's costly but so worth it. I bought a pair many years ago and I still wear them.
Restaurants with vegan food options (according to research, but not personally tried):
Adamo ed Eva by Hotel Eden Roc
Da Gabrisa
Il Tridente

PRAIANO
Enjoy a Spritz and a lunch at the Il Pirata Ristorante, Lounge Bar. It has beautiful sea views and a delicious menu. I ordered a variety of different side dishes, all delicious.
If you feel like something a bit more refreshing and fresh, there is a little café under the Bar La Conchigia that makes fresh smoothies to order. Really good on a hot day.
TIP! You can rent a little boat at the harbour to take out into the sea. The views are spectacular and so worth it!
Other restaurants with vegan food options (according to research, but not tried)
La Gavitella
La Moressa
AMALFI
When in Amalfi buy Amalfi Lemons and enjoy a Malfi G&T. This village has been busy every time we have been here. It's not to prettiest of all the villages and beaches in my personal opion, but you can't travel the Amalfi Coast and not stop in Amalfi as it's steeped in history and maritime heritage. Also have a look at the Amalfi Cathedral. the detail in the Architecture is amazing.
RAVELLO
Set up the hills with endless, breath-taking views overlooking the beautiful Amalfi Coasatline. A mixture of Architecture styles, iconic cliffside gardens this place has been named the City of Music. This town has been a popular destination for artists, musicians and writers, such as Richard Wagner, Virginia Woolf, Leonard Bernstein.
We spent only an afternoon here, but I wish we had more time scheduled to spend here.
Restaurant(s) with vegan food options (according to research, but not tried)
Bella Vista sul mare
DARK CHOCOLATE PLEASE
If you love Chocolate Gelato, I highly recommend the dark chocolate (vegan) gelato from Baffone Gelateria. It was my favourite during our whole time stay in Italy.
CAPRI
Take the ferry to Capri from Amalfi. The ferry takes about an hour each way. Spend the day in Capri, but I would almost recommend staying a few days exploring Capri and Anacapri. Anacapri has amazing walking trails and beautiful views, if that's something you enjoy.

I am hoping to come back here again sometime in the future and ones that happens, I will keep updating this blog post.
But in the meatime let me know
WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE PLACE(S) ON THE AMALFI COAST AND A RESTAURANT WITH GOOD VEGAN FOOD?
I would love any advice or recommendations. Do drop me a comment below.
