Healthy Chocolate Orange Thick Shake

Thick, creamy chocolate orange smoothie. High in protein and nutritious.

If you love the combination of chocolate and orange, you will love this smoothie! It's one of my favourite combinations and it's so good!
Mood boosting and promoting a healthy skin, this is a deliciously healthier and satisfying alternative to a chocolate orange (milk)shake.
YOU WILL NEED
An orange
Cacao powder, ideally organic
Chocolate protein powder
Almond milk or milk of choice
A frozen banana
ORANGE
I use the whole orange (peeled) and a bit of orange peel and zest. I highly recommend the zest or peel as it really enhances the orange flavour.
If you don't have oranges you can use orange juice, but make sure it's 100% orange juice and not made from concentrate.

SERVES: 1
INGREDIENTS
A whole orange, peeled
Zest from half an orange or a piece of orange peel (about 2 cm long)
1 tsp Cacao powder, ideally organic
1 scoop (vegan) chocolate protein powder
1/2 cup Almond milk or milk of choice (add more if required)
a frozen banana
INSTRUCTIONS
Add all the ingredients to a high-speed blender and blend until completely smooth. Add more milk or a few ice cubes if the shake is too thick for your liking.
Pour into a glass and add more zest (optional). Enjoy!
