Smoothie or dessert, this smoothie is nutritious and tastes just like a dessert.

Made with a blend of pears, banana, vanilla, oats and oat milk, this makes a wonderful breakfast or an afternoon snack.


Vanilla and pear is one of those classic flavour combination that just works so well, whether in a dessert such as poached pears, jams, candy, baked goods or cocktails. So why not make it a smoothie.

THE INGREDIENTS

PEAR

Pears contain a good amount of vitamin A which is beneficial for healthy skin, hair and nails.

They are also an immune booster and promote gut health.



VANILLA

Apart from its wonderful taste and aroma, it is also high in Antioxidants and may also benefit brain health and have anti-inflammatory properties. If you are using a vanilla protein powder you of course have the added protein.



BANANA

Bananas are good for heart health and blood pressure, as well as good for your skin and can aid good digestion. Plus they are great for slow release energy.



OATS

Oats contain powerful soluble fibres and are rich in antioxidants. It also helps maintain digestive health and help you stay full for longer.

For gluten-free option make sure to use a gluten-free certified oats.

VANILLA PEAR SMOOTHIE


Made with a blend of pears, banana, vanilla, oats and oat milk, this makes a wonderful breakfast or an afternoon pick-me-up.



Serves: 1

Time: 5 min


INGREDIENTS

  • 1 small pear, cored and cut into quarters

  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder OR 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 small frozen or fresh banana (using a frozen banana will give a thicker consistency)

  • 1 1/2 cup oat milk or milk of choice

  • 20g rolled oats

  • 1 tsp maca powder (optional)



INSTRUCTIONS

Add all the ingredients into a high-speed blender and blend until smooth.
