Made with only 2 ingredients, this date caramel is a fantastic healthier alternative to most caramel sauces.

SALTED CARAMEL
If you want to make this a salted caramel I recommend adding a few sea salt flakes. Start with 1/4 tsp and add more as needed.
PAIR IT WITH
a creamy, unsweetened overnight oats
on pancakes
use it as a dip for sliced apples
stir it into your unsweetened yoghurt
make this sauce with a thinner consistency and drizzle it over vanilla ice cream
TIP!
Using soft dates will make the blending process easier. If the dates are a bit hard you can pre-soak them in really hot water for about 15 minutes. Drain before adding to the blender.

HEALTHY DATE CARAMEL
A healthier 2-ingredients caramel sauce made from Medjool dates and almond milk.
Time: about 5 minutes
Makes: a small jar
INGREDIENTS
15 soft Medjool dates, pitted
3/4 cup almond milk (unsweetened) or cashew milk
a pinch of salt (optional)
1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
INSTRUCTIONS
Add the ingredients to a high-speed blender until the mixture is completely smooth. Add more almond milk if needed to help the blending or until the desired texture is reached.
