Delicious Tropical flavours with added Spirulina, which gives it that vibrant blue-green colour.

WHAT IS SPIRULINA?
Spirulina is a remarkable protein-rich algae and has a vibrant blue-green colour. It contains brain boosting phycocyanin which gives it that pretty colour.
Is is also packed with all the essential amino acids for muscle toning and quick muscle recovery.
It makes a great plant protein as it's easily digestible and is also known for its cleansing abilities and effective detoxifies the body.
If you haven't started adding it to your smoothie.... this is your sign!
HOW TO MAKE SPIRULINA TASTE GOOD
Firstly, make sure to use a good quality brand. Being an algae, it is understandable that the taste is rather strong and not everyone's cup of tea. To help make it palatable (if you don't like it), simply pair it with fruit that has strong flavours. Example is this tropical smoothie that gets pineapple and coconut. The flavour of the pineapple overtakes the taste of the spirulina.
Other great fruit options to use are mango or kiwi.
TO MAKE THIS YOU WILL NEED
A banana, fresh or frozen
Pineapple, fresh or frozen
Spirulina powder
Hemp seeds
Coconut flakes
Coconut yoghurt
Coconut milk (not the canned stuff), almond milk or coconut water. You can also go half and half if you like.
FRESH OR FROZEN
If you want a thick smoothie I suggest using frozen fruit and perhaps adding some ice cubes. The frozen will help give it a thicker texture.
